Christmas

Halen really enjoyed himself this Christmas. We had everyone at our house on Christmas Eve and we went to Carl's Dads on Christmas day. All of the Aunts and uncles, Papa & Grandma and Grandpa spoiled him.Santa was good to Halen too. He got a THX Elmo and a real old fashioned fire engine! He loves it! He sits on it and says "woo-woo" Too cute. He especially likes the magna doodle that we got him.
He just scribbles away, then erases and starts over.
It was so fun watching him open gifts. Next year should be even better!

TANTA!!!

Well, the kids loves Santa. Actually, it's more like an obsession. Carl and I along with Bill, Renee and Tyler went to see the big guy on Thursday. Once Santa was in sight, Halen wanted to get to him! "Tanta,Tanta, Tanta" he kept saying. When we got really close, he was trying to get past the other couple of families in front of us to get to Santa. When it was our turn I just let him go. He ran up to Santa. I put him on his lap and he just sat there staring at him and touching him. He was sooo good! After a while I picked him up and we got out of the way so as Tyler could have a turn. "Tanta,Tanta, Tanta" was all he could say. He was trying to get back to Santa. I had to leave the area and go into a store. He was still trying to get out of his stroller to get to him.

Ever since a cashier gave him a Santa picture about a month ago, he can't stop talking about him. Every time he sees a picture, commercial, toy of Santa he gets excited. I think that seeing him up close on our Polar express trip was the deal clincher though. He got to shake his hand and Santa gave him a jingle bell. He plays with that bell all the time. What a fun night that was. We actually were kinda bummed out when we got a late November date for the ride. We wanted a snowy train ride. Well, just as we were getting in line for hot cocoa, it started to snow. I know.....just like a movie or something!

I even found a Santa doll that my mother had bought for him before she passed away. It plays "You better watch out". When I ask him to have Santa sing him a song, he squeezes it to make it play. Then he dances around with it.

I know that next year is supposed to be the BIG Christmas. But I think that this one so far, is pretty big for him. I cannot wait to see him open gifts!!

#59

It seems that Halen adds a word a day sometimes. It is so fun to hear him repeat things that he hears us say. For instance, boobs. I am not counting that as a word though. Funny, yet not at the same time.

59. Ravi (ravioli)
60. Deal
61. Yes/jes

It funny, because Carl and I talk to Halen like a little person and not a baby. So, sometimes he talks or answers back in the same manner. When Carl tells or asks him things, sometimes he says something like, "I'll be back in a minute and then we'll play. Deal?" To which Halen replies, "Deal"
I will ask him a question or pose a deal to him and he answers either "deal or yes/jes" Now I follow that up with "Let's shake on it." I taught him how to shake hands with me. Now I make him shake on it with me to seal the deal!
